FEATURES OF A LESSON PLAN

FEATURES OF A LESSON PLAN

  1. a.    How important do you think a lesson plan is to a successful lesson? What features do you think a lesson plan should include?
Is clear that the importance of a class is that students learn, and this is reflected in teacher performance; for this reason, the teacher must be well prepared when guiding a class. A lesson plan is the basis of it, as teachers can` t improvise a theme to a group of students because it is unethical in a first step and second step does not inspire confidence. As a teacher, I always plan my class considering the following steps and characteristics.
1. issue
2. title
3. General purpose
4. Specific objectives
5. achievements
6. quality standards
7. activities to develop
8. time used
9. resources to use
10. evaluation ( can be oral, write, or attitudinal)
Besides, the lesson plan should be enjoyable, dynamic, flexible and contextualized to the region

  1. b.    Do you think it is a good idea to strictly follow a lesson plan? Why?
Not necessarily we must follow the lesson plan sequentially. The lesson plan is a guide, but as teachers we should be in the ability to add or remove activities depending on the development of the class, fluidity and the level of student learning. We are often advocated to include activities that perhaps we had not in mind when planning but we see that it can become fruitful.
Personally I do when designing a lesson plan, always in developing the kind I change some activities because I note that are a little more contextualized to the student environment.

a lesson plan should not be followed strictly, quite the opposite a lesson plan should be designed flexibly to allow reforms and change along class and it to suit the needs of the moment. The lesson plan should be a guide for teachers for that they design, research and create new strategies, tools and learning activities that lead to successful teaching.

    c. Some people think that lesson plans severely restrict teachers’ creativity. Do you agree? Explain your answer.

Possibly. But you need to plan. It's like when you want to take a walk with your family. First thing to do is plan, for example, they will eat?, who will go? Where will they go?
So does the lesson plan, we plan to thereby have an overview of what you want to do and where you want to go.
According to the answer to the previous question, I think that creativity we can include in the moment that we comes to mind a good activity in the development of the class.

I consider that creating a lesson plan encourages creativity of teachers for they investigate and create new activities daily. In turn if the teacher develops a good process of assessment of the lesson plan, they will get to know what activities are successful and what not, that materials are easy or difficult to use, which implement and what not.
